Cccp player loop
Secondly, when I copy the identical URL (i.e., ) directly into the Windows Media Player menu option "Open URL", the player encounters an error in playing the remote file. As a side issue, shouldn't Windows Media have started to display the MPEG-4 file before the download was finished (i.e., in the manner of steaming video)? I just noticed that this action causes the remote file to be completely downloaded to a Temp location in my computer before it is displayed (in effect, what 5ms? has suggested).

I previously mentioned that if one clicks on the URL = from IE7, the file displays properly. I have also tried this under VB6 with the QuickTime control as a player and the URL property set to QT.URL = "") and the clip successfully plays.Ĭan anyone suggest how I might correct the behavior of the Windows Media Player in the remote mode under VB6? If I connect to this remote URL with IE7, the clip plays successfully in the Windows Media Player so it would seem that compatibility exists. The Windows Media Player displays "connecting" and then "ready" but no image display exists at that time or when the "Play" control on the player is activated. If the URL property is set to the remote location of the clip (i.e., WMP.URL = "") then the video clip does not play. As previously achieved, the implementation works fine when the control property WMP.URL is set to the local file (WMP.URL= App.Path & "\IndianCrow320.mp4")

Now, I am now trying to display a remotely-stored MPEG-4 video clip (i.e., from an internet URL rather than from a local path on my computer). As part of this advice, I installed the CCCP Codec package to achieve compatibility of the player with the video format.

In a previously resolved thread, I was advised on how to adapt the Windows Media Player to display a MPEG-4 video clip within the context of a VB6 application.
